Comments from my Lecturers were that my Research into the 1950's wasn't indepth enough & it would be better to hone in on a particular area to get more out of it and further my research & design development.
Potential Ideas were: Domestic Women at home, Work wear, 1950's advertising & Sportswear. I also felt that I was lacking inspiration to develop my ideas and Researched into the above and found I became quickly inspired by Womens sportwear in the 1950's.
I found it hard to locate images of women playing sport in the 1950's as it wasn't as popular amongst women as it is today. Women played more os a spectator role. I also found that women's Sportswear then was much more sophisticated and formal than it is to our casual and relaxed look today. It was certainly much more glamouras. Although I would like my collection to have a slight sporting feel I don't intend my collection to portray sporstwear as it is today but will take inspiration from the Look, Feel, Fabrics, Shapes, Fabrications and Silhouette used then.
