TOILE Development of OUTFIT 1:OVERSIZED Trouser & Top:

This is the my initial toile development of the Oversized Trouser suit with raglan top underneath:
Front- first toile of Oversized Trouser with top underneath

Pleat in Trouser not big enough or central enough

I added in fabric to see how much bigger I might want the pleat to become ( shown right side)

Making the pleat bigger will give larger silhouette which I want. Silhouette not quite right as goes in at side seam needs to be straightened off at side seam,

As I want to add in my belt to the top of the Trouser  suit, Caryl said I have to have a foundation to support it  so stared to pin and add in fabric.

Marked in pencil on top (faint) of where the foundation of fabric should go up to.

Thinking about height/depth of yoke.

Back view. Needs to be cut away at back more to make more flattering and give desired silhouette.

Dart needs to be put else where.

THE TOP TO GO UNDERNEATH:
Neck too high & tight, needs lowering,  and tight across chest giving drag lines- needs added allowance

Raglan sleeves- needs taking in slightly at top

Needed excess fabric taking in at back to give more flattering fit .

Happy with depth of turnback cuff on sleeve
OTHER COMMENTS:
  • Top needs to be longer in length
  • Think about fastenings
